Eastrop Park
This area was originally wetland and the river Loddon still runs through the centre of the park. The park is particularly popular in the summer, providing a range of activities including rowing and paddle boats for hire from the Boathouse Café. During the summer there are other events including band concerts, Punch and Judy shows etc. The nature trail which starts at the Boathouse, follows a circular route via the Crabtree Plantation and Black Dam Ponds. Also, a cycleway runs through the park connecting the Town Centre to Old Basing.
The War Memorial Park
This is an 18th century park which was established as a public amenity in 1927. The park contains extensive woodland and many mature specimen trees. In addition to the many sport activities catered for within the park, the Basingstoke Carnival is based at the park in mid-summer. Other events take place during the year including a hot air balloon festival, a fireworks festival, dog shows, cross country and various children’s entertainment. The current programme of improvements includes a new aviary, play area and further landscaping.
The Anvil

Black Dam Ponds
The ponds act as a flood control and provide a haven for wildlife, particularly water fowl. This attractive area has picnic facilities and is popular for feeding the ducks and swans. The path at the eastern end connects under a subway to the nature reserve managed by Hampshire Wildlife Trust and on to Crabtree Open Space.

Crabtree Plantation
The main entrance to Crabtree from the A30 is through the Bolton Arch, which is a listed building. Car parking is available at this entrance. There is a woodland area with wildlife and paths running through it. This leads on to a large open space managed by the Hampshire Wildlife Trust. There is an open grass area running down to a nature reserve which is popular for leisure activities, especially in the summer.

Stratfield Saye House
Stratfield Saye House was bought for the 1st Duke of Wellington in 1817 as his country house. The family still live there.
